Frequently Asked Questions
The Free Email Signature Editor is a browser-based visual HTML editor that lets you design, customise, and validate professional email signatures without any coding knowledge. You can create a signature from scratch, load existing HTML, or start from one of our ready-made templates — then copy the final HTML directly into Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, or any other email client.
To create an email signature, choose a template by clicking the Templates button, or start with a blank canvas. Edit text, colours, fonts, and images directly in the visual editor. Use the Copy button to copy the finished HTML to your clipboard, then paste it into your email client's signature settings. You can also send it to your email address using the Send button to preview it in a real inbox.
Signatures created with this editor are compatible with all major email clients including Gmail, Microsoft Outlook, Apple Mail, Yahoo Mail, Thunderbird, and mobile email apps on iOS and Android. Use the built-in Check (validate) feature to scan your HTML for compatibility issues, oversized content, unsupported elements, and broken images before installing it in your email client.
Yes, the Visual Editor is free to use. You can design, validate, and copy your HTML signature at no cost. Premium features — such as saving signatures online, accessing all professional templates, and removing image watermarks — are available with a paid plan. Free users can still download their signature HTML and use it immediately.
The Signature Generator uses a form-based wizard where you fill in your details (name, title, phone, social links) and the tool builds the signature automatically from a chosen template. The Visual Editor is a freeform HTML editor that gives you full control over the layout, styling, and structure of your signature. You can also paste or load any existing signature HTML into the Visual Editor to fine-tune it.
Click the Check button in the editor toolbar. The validator analyses your signature HTML for common problems: broken or missing images, HTML elements not supported by email clients, oversized content that may be clipped, and general email best-practice violations. The results show a pass/fail status with specific recommendations so you can fix issues before deploying the signature.
Yes. Click the Preview button to open a side-by-side preview showing how your signature will look on both a desktop email client and a mobile device. This helps you identify layout or font-size issues before you install the signature, ensuring it looks great for all recipients regardless of device.
You can load an existing signature in two ways: use File > Load Signature HTML to import an HTML file from your computer, or simply paste the HTML code directly into the editor. This is useful for editing signatures created in other tools or for updating an existing corporate signature without starting from scratch.
Email signatures are built using HTML tables for maximum compatibility across email clients. The editor displays visual table borders by default so you can clearly see the structure and layout of your signature while editing. These borders are only visible inside the editor — they do not appear in the final signature seen by your recipients. You can turn them off at any time in the View menu.
Once your signature is ready, click the Copy button to copy the HTML to your clipboard. In Gmail, go to Settings > See all settings > General > Signature, create a new signature, then paste. In Outlook, go to File > Options > Mail > Signatures, create a new entry, switch to the HTML editor view, and paste. You can also use the Send button to email the signature to yourself and preview it in your actual email client before installing.
